With insurance companies squeezing profits from Doctors, many practices have turned to concierge medicine. Concierge medicine is the idea of a relationship between a patient and a primary care physician in which the patient pays an annual fee or retainer to use their services.

This new app would play off that idea, but make an large network of primary care physicians available to you 24/7. The idea would be that you can start a dialogue, via chat, anytime of day. While you would typically be paired with the same doctor, any doctor could see your past conversations to quickly get-up to speed on past diagnoses, trail of questions, etc.

The idea would not be to replace your existing doctor, but to supplement that relationship and be able to ask someone questions that would normally not get answered until your yearly physical (i.e. do I need to worry about this rash, is XYZ symptom normal, etc).

A similar service currently exists for mental health called Talkspace. Talkspace includes “Unlimited Messaging Therapy”, offering users unlimited text messaging with a therapist on the Talkspace website or mobile app.
