My prefered flying experience involves spending as little time on the airplane as possible. One hurdle in achieving this goal is that overhead bin space is only available to those boarding the plane first. Access to overhead bin space is the number one incentive in boarding the plane first.

Shouldnt it be the other way around? Frequent travelers and those with good status should be allowed to board LAST, not first. Who wants to spend more time in a cramped seat?

Airlines should create individual sized compartments in the overhead bins which can be reserved ahead of time. Pay an extra $25 and lock in your overhead space. This also would speed up the boarding process.
