One of the principles of persuasion according to Cialdini is consistency.

Consistency means we like our future choices be consistent with our past choices. If we always choose vanilla ice cream, we’re unlikely to suddenly switch to citrus flavor.

However, to make progress, we need to break consistency at some point. We need to learn new tricks and adapt.

There may be some changes in your life you’ve been putting off because they are too radical.

Painting your room a different color.
Moving to a new city.
Learning a new skill to start a side business.

Don’t fear these changes. They are often reversible and since most people won’t make them, if you’re competing you’ll leave others behind on your way to a better future.

What are some radical changes you can make today?

Go make them.
