I tried these pretzel clusters thanks to a goof friend, Anna Stringfield. She made these melt in your mouth nibbles in college and it was love at first bite. Since then, I have passed on the obsession to my family and neighbors in California.
Something so simple wouldn’t normally constitute a recipe, but because these little snacks bring so much joy to everyone who tries them, they deserve a place in my year of recipes.

The recipe is one of the more flexible ones out there. For example, I have yet to purchase pecans, a common theme thus far, and substituted walnuts instead. Around the holidays I like to make these guys with different colored m&m’s depending on the festivity. In this case the Christmas m&m’s were on sale at Safeway so these guys were topped with red and green chocolate pieces and walnuts.
Also, the recipe calls for small pretzels, so you can use the square ones that look like little windows or the round, more heart shaped pretzels. It is entirely up to you.
Takeaways: Make two Rolo bags full.
Who pigged out on the pretzels? My dad, me, friends, neighbors etc. etc.
