“Picking just one photo for this project is a difficult task, considering just how many perfectly timed shots Sallie has captured of me. With that in mind, I’m picking this photo because I distinctly remember the moment in context. I was playing at Funk n Pop and found myself surrounded by gnats (water dwelling flying insects) overhead. My mind was focused on my next solo, but I couldn’t help but be distracted with them hovering around my ears. The moment must have lasted 10–15 seconds, and I’m really glad Sallie was there to capture it on film.” — Adam
