Neymar has penned a new deal with FC Barcelona that will see him stay at the club until 2021. The agreement will be presented formally 15 July, which is before Neymar meets up with the Brazilian national squad for the Olympic Games.

This new deal brings an increase in Neymar’s buy out clause, that is most likely designed to put off the likes of Manchester United. FC Barcelona report that the players buy out clause will be set at €200m in the first year and will increase to €222m in the second year and will increase to €250m for the remaining three years.

Neymar has been impressive since joining Barça from Santos in 2013. He has had to adapt his style and mentality to shift from being the key player for Santos to a more supporting role for Barcelona. In his first season at Barça Neymar managed to bag 15 goals, he improved that to 39 in the second season and was able to reach 31 in the season just gone. He is also good for an assist, creating 16 goals in La Liga and the Champions League last season.
