Forgiveness

I have been in the healing ministry for a number of years and have learned many things about peoples lives and their ancestral history. People often experience sickness, disease, brokenness, worry, divorce, and abandonment.
My research and studies have helped me understand the most important thing a person can do for healing is to forgive. This has been proven by science in a study by Dr. Caroline Leaf. In her book “Who Switched Off My Brain”, she states unforgiveness in our heart will leave a black area in our brain causing great pain when we go back to that memory.
We must also understand that forgiveness is not a feeling. Many times we do not want to forgive but forgiveness is a choice that we make for ourselves.
When we forgive someone it does not mean that what was said or done to us was right. We simply release this burden to God because we are not their Judge. Make a decision today to forgive the ones that have hurt you by actions or words.

Forgiveness is:
The act of forgiving; the pardon of an offender, by which he/she is considered and treated as not guilty. The forgiveness of enemies is a Christian duty.
The pardon or remission of an offense or crime; as the forgiveness of sin or of injuries.
Disposition to pardon; willingness to forgive. And mild forgiveness interceded to stop the coming blow.
Remission of a debt, fine or penalty.

Kris Vallotton, author and teacher, makes a statement regarding forgiveness, he says “Forgiveness RESTORES the standard!” Meaning when Jesus forgave you, you became a new person. Jesus forgives us of ALL our sins when we repent and ask for forgiveness and makes us new. We should make a choice to walk in a lifestyle of forgiveness to others so that we can bless and not curse and begin to walk out our healing.

Mark 11:25–26 (NLT) says “But when you are praying FIRST forgive ANYONE you are holding a grudge against, SO that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.” We see how important just based on this scripture forgiveness is. Stop for a moment and ask your Heavenly Father if you are holding any grudges or bitterness toward anyone, if so forgive them. Remember it is a choice and not a feeling. Be sure to check back as we learn what happens when we make a choice NOT to forgive. I will also cover fear…what is it and what effect does it have on us and our health.
