For those who remember, 2017 was a hard, tragic, but somehow funny year. It was the year in which the global order was repeatedly questioned; where a lot of advances in terms of technology were announced. People started questioning their own professional role and what they meant, as well as the future of their jobs. Shortly after, the BBC “family” news presented the video of the year…

Everyone remembers this one and all the questions about family, profession and role models that followed. Given that some of our colleagues are having their own families, we had these discussions too. Bringing these topics to the table is enriching for everyone.

But the main reason we remember videos like this is because it was FUN! So if you ask me what was 2017 all about, I would just start laughing.

Office Openings

Office in München

It was left to Daniel Landgraf, Carolin Semff and Alexandre Donnadieu to open us new doors! Carolin and Daniel have gained a wealth of experience in the 3D Printing arena, and settled at our offices in München.

While Alex, well Alex was particularly lucky: he got the keys to the castle in Paris and shortly after added the “Sir” title to his name.

Sir Alexandre Donnadieu, Paris 2017.

“I used to hang out way too long with Aleks, our CEO, and I guess this all went to my head…”, he laughs. “But seriously, our company growth is really inspiring, it’s like being in a science fiction movie like Back to the Future. “Roads? Where we’re going… we don’t need roads!” He laughs again. “This is the impact 3YOURMIND had on my way of understanding things. I have never imagined my future in such a groundbreaking field, but I totally did imagine myself contributing to its widespread adoption — to this company’s success — by sharing my knowledge of the French market, and of course enjoying some special moments with the team.” Alexandre Donnadieu, Business Development Manager, 3YOURMIND Paris.

The company’s reputation was still unmatched party wise, and a huge challenge was around the corner. There were a lot of boarding tickets that had to be used… André and Krystian arrived at the gates right on time… something was about to happen! Enter the Formnext 2017 party, organized by DyeMansion, AM Ventures, TUV Sud and 3YOURMIND.

“It was crazy! It was my first year with the sales team, and I was working on a list of customers to meet at the show, but the very next day I was asked to start working on the concept and playlist for the same show’s party!!! I have been into electronic music for a long while now, and it was a great experience to be part of the party organization, and of course, one of the Djs.” Says André Drochner, Key Account Manager, 3YOURMIND Berlin, with a smile in his face.

“I remember that formnext party, I was working already on the release of my album, when I got to join the DJ set for that show. It was the first time I was working together with the Berlin office, but on a different table ;) . They say when you find a job that you enjoy doing, then you don’t have to work a single day of your life, and by the way, I am on the sales team, Wroclaw office. ;)” Krystian Pawełczyk, Key Accound Manager, 3YOURMIND Wroclaw.

“A great power comes with a great responsibility…”

The end of the year was really busy — after all of the activity of the last 12 months, the new locations, new employees, parties and shows, 3YOURMIND was announcing their Series A investment round. But it was important for the management team to debate and establish the new goals and structures of the company together with employees.

For this purpose we needed to get the whole team together — some of them didn’t even knew each other so it was challenging to make 40 people concur. Nonetheless, this is exactly the point, in Barcelona, where the age of our workshops at 3YOURMIND begun.

“We took advantage of the traditional Christmas getaway to get together and work on something much bigger than our daily tasks, because the depth of the human relations is what makes our company special. The workshops we host are designed to bring as much value to the company as to the employees — this is why we make such an effort on making them special and fun. I know this is something people won’t forget! I think this approach adds much more value than expected. It’s also why we chose such a special location!” Carolina Fonseca, Talent Acquisition Manager, 3YOURMIND Berlin.

Carolina continues: “on a daily basis we focus on our own work, so one of the main take away goals of this special meeting was to get people from different departments to collaborate around a topic that transverses all departments. I believe working together and thinking of the bigger impact we have as a team is the main goal, and outcome of our workshops.”
