September in RETROGRADE: Oscillation, Regenerative Culture & the #quadraticfrens
Shaking The Table @ Gitcoin’s GR15
Since our inception as a community in August 2021, we’ve looked to set a firm example of building grassroots power to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that fuels change. One of the most prominent ways this is displayed is through our intentional approach of fundraising for our community initiatives, most notably Gitcoin. During this past month we’ve participated in Gitcoin’s most recent grants round and we’re excited to be one of the inaugural members of the #quadraticfrens! This is a purpose built coalition of impact focused initiatives using quadratic funding to reshape what it means to build in Web3. Over the course of 16 Days we built a group of 50 grantees and cumulatively raised over $100k for projects focused on DeSci, Climate Solutions, & DEI, for more info on the participants please check out this collection and stay tuned on our upcoming announcements.
The Future is NEAR
As we reach the final week ahead of our Season One launch, we could not be more excited to step into the community’s next iteration of Educating, Engaging & Empowering underserved communities using Web 3 tech. Some things to look forward to will be a new lineup of programs expanding our calendar to provide daily events both in person & virtually, 3 flagship products available exclusively to our community members, & an adventure into an emerging blockchain ecosystem!
More on the NEAR Protocol
After partnering with NEAR ATX during Consensus to host the Hacker House we’ve been deep into the rabbit hole of this up and coming protocol. The NEAR protocol is a sharded, proof-of-stake, layer-one blockchain that is simple to use, secure and scalable. With over 750+ apps and a focus on mobile compatibility, we’re confident that partnering with them for our first season will create boundless opportunities for sustainable growth and access to onboard more diverse contributors.
Uhuru Force, hitting its stride
This was an especially impactful month for Uhuru Force as we announced the successful launch of two new initiatives. These programs center on our commitment to empowering underserved communities in the realm of water access and addressing the cash bail system by partnering with Giveth.io to offer a robust contributor platform and allow for participation in their coveted GivBacks program. If you’re interested in contributing to either of these projects please complete the Working Group Registration form attached below and select the WAGMI Water Project or the Decentralized Freedom Fund to be onboarded by a member!
Memorializing our Art
This month, members of our Renaissance on Chain guild developed an immersive metaverse art gallery using Spatial! The gallery is now live and available to the public for viewing and events with the opportunity for individuals to bid on and collect art from our Genesis Acres Collection! If you haven’t already be sure to check out the gallery using this link and support the following artists!
