Personal Social Responsibility
I remember vividly how Corporate Social Responsibility, C-S-R, was a buzzword when I was still pursuing my bachelor’s degree, back in 2006. It found place in one of our subjects on Management, and was pithily taught to us. Ten years on, quite a few companies still do CSR activities with much vigour, seriousness (and selflessness, I hope). After all, it is only rational, humane and necessary to give back to the society.
‘Why not do this at a personal level’, I thought.
Personal Social Responsibility.
While planting saplings, donating blood, volunteering to teach the underprivileged, are all revered acts of community service, I plan on doing something less honourable — but helpful, nonetheless. With something (I believe) I am good at.
I will help people get jobs. Yes.
How?
The first impression of a candidate is often the most important one. And typically, a CV or a Resume is what gives out the first impression. Here’s where I can be of help. Since some time now, I have been ‘editing’ CVs that people share with me. All I do is make it look good, neat, and presentable — such that it increases one’s probability of getting the job. And it has.
When?
I can loosen up around 45 to 60 minutes daily from my schedule to work on this; strictly not out of my working hours. Depending upon how good (or bad) the original CV is, it will take me anywhere between 10 to 40 minutes (sometimes longer) to jazz up a CV.
Why me?
At the risk of sounding like Donald Trump, I’d say I believe I am good with understanding the various elements of an impactful CV; and also able to bring that alive on paper. Plus, I’m good with MS Word. Have some sense of design. I’m watchful of grammar (not ‘nazi’ level, I fear). All thanks to my current job role at a communications agency.
Can I be trusted?
I can’t force you to. But the trade-off you’ll get for trusting me might well be worth every bit. And it’s FREE!
What’s in it for me?
Satisfaction of giving it back to the society. And when you further extend the chain and help someone out in any way, it only gets better. :)
How to reach out?
DM me @saadshake. I’ll share my email ID. Unless I find a better way of doing this.
Hit me up if you need help. And please help others reach out to me by sharing this with whoever you think needs to jazz up their CV.
