Maltese Business Registry Will Accept Blockchain With Government Support

Silvio Schembri, Junior Minister for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation in the Government of Malta stated that the blockchain will be used in the Malta Business Registry (MBR).
According to Schembri, as a result of this initiative, the first government agency working on a blockchain-based system and artificial intelligence will be created.
The official also explained that the goal is to increase the efficiency of the system and reduce unnecessary bureaucratic procedures through significant investments in information technology. The new MBR will also supposedly allow new services that were previously impossible.
