Decentralized storage and distributed storage are widely acknowledged to be expanding alongside Web3.0’s own development as the necessary infrastructure for its future growth. The most widely used storage protocol in the industry today, IPFS, is seeing an increase in demand. Pinata, a centralised IPFS Pin Service provider, finally completed over $20 million in funding, demonstrating the market’s confidence in the continued growth of IPFS.

Of course, IPFS has a lot of drawbacks of its own. For instance, the absence of an incentive system in IPFS causes its actual use to fall significantly short of expectations. Due to the unmotivated IPFS nodes’ dispersion, bandwidth performance, and physical distance, the Web3.0 availability at the hot data layer cannot be met by the existing IPFS protocol alone. This limits the efficiency of accessing and uploading resources.

Filecoin, which is built on top of IPFS, fills the limitations left by the IPFS incentive layer, and as predicted, more high-performance miner nodes are joining the Filecoin network to expand its bandwidth and storage capabilities. But Filecoin’s intricate process keeps it from being a good fit for the hot data layer. The performance requirements of conventional warm or cold storage are currently more closely met by Filecoin storage, which is constrained by its unique data encapsulation and retrieval mechanism.

Furthermore, Filecoin is fundamentally a marketplace for open source cloud storage that connects miners with consumers whose data storage is still more of a single-node store, where dangers like data loss still exist. As a result, Filecoin storage is now unable to meet the high availability of data requirements.

For actual market use, we can also observe that the majority of users combine Filecoin and IPFS to suit their hot storage and cold backup requirements.

A novel kind of storage system called Arweave offers developers long-term and sustainable data storage. Arweave, however, is obviously unsuitable in terms of economics and storage efficiency for short- and medium-term storage requirements. It seems obvious that IPFS would be a better option, especially for all types of data storage with frequent updates. We may also observe a steady rise in demand for Arweave storage across a number of industries, including NFT. Arweave is better suited for perpetual storage and backup scenarios that do not change.

From the aforementioned, we can see that while IPFS can address the issue of hot storage, its own lack of incentives and poor node synergy mainly fall short of the actual requirements of web3.0. Although there are providers of pin services like pinata, infura, etc., they still tend to operate more centrally like AWS S3, which is incompatible with the decentralized core of web3.0.

A collection of IPFS nodes are organized into a cooperative storage and gateway service called 4EVERLAND, which uses a novel cryptographic and economic approach to reward contributing nodes and punish fraudulent ones, enabling a genuinely decentralized IPFS Swarm storage network.

We offer a more lightweight consensus method based on TEE to accomplish decentralized and reliable data storage in contrast to the intricate design of Filecoin. In the data layer, we are concurrently constructing a worldwide data synchronization network based on IPFS. To guarantee worldwide data dispersion and high availability, the Swarm network is used to build and synchronize the data of the distributed network nodes. This is a good solution to the existing IPFS dilemma.

Additionally, eternal storage, data backup, and cold storage are three areas where Arweave and Filecoin excel. By combining different storage protocols in a compatible manner, 4EVERLAND can give developers a more complete storage solution.

In order to fully address the needs for hot storage, warm storage, cold storage, and permanent store backup, 4EVERLAND integrates a variety of protocols to work in harmony with one another. More information on the 4EVERLAND storage node design and consensus mechanism can be found in our V1 white paper at: https://deon.4everland.store/4everland-whitepaper-V1Quark.pdf

4EVERLAND concentrates more on the development of upper layer applications in the early market promotion in addition to the storage floor. The lack of higher layer practical application use makes these projects, unlike many mining-type ventures, unable to sustain the early fever that can be created by mining and other money-making impacts.

Because of this, 4EVERLAND created two applications at the start of the project, attracting over 40,000 developers and applications by reducing the bar for developers and offering more easy services. By building early market consensus before moving to the bottom node campaign, it can lead to stronger market effects and a longer-lasting market consensus.

4EVERLAND Hosting is just like a decentralised Vercel, offering a convenient front-end hosting service. Web2 has independently demonstrated this in the market, and Vercel is today valued at more than $2.5 billion. Decentralized front-end hosting is currently the last stage towards the complete decentralization of applications for all Dapps and Web3, where there is a much greater immediate need for it.

The community and users are becoming more and more in agreement with front-end decentralization, and in the future, this is sure to become a norm for Dapps as well as smart contracts, especially in light of all the recent episodes of frontend hi-jacking and centralized intervention.

4EVERLAND Bucket, as a decentralised AWS S3, covers a wider storage market. Growth in various areas, such as NFT, Metaverse, Gamefi, etc., will create greater demand for storage.

Ardrive is a component of the AR segment in addition to Pinata in the IPFS sector. All of the large valuation investment for Filswan and Lighthouse, which offer Filecoin higher layer apps, has been accomplished. This demonstrates the market’s strong bullishness regarding the development of storage applications. In comparison to these development tools, 4EVERLAND Bucket provides a more web2-compatible, low-threshold approach to development as well as a more complete storage solution.

Happy building!
