Dear 4evers,

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our gateway service upgrade! Over the past month, we have been working tirelessly to optimize our system to provide a faster, more secure, and stable gateway access experience.

This upgrade not only enhances our service, but it also introduces some significant changes. We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with detailed information about these changes and offer relevant operational guidelines to ensure you can continue to enjoy seamless service.

The upgrade

Improved Domain Name Service: We have upgraded our domain name service to provide faster, more secure, and stable gateway access. This will result in a superior user experience and increased data security. As a result, the old gateway has stopped functioning. If you have received a reminder to “re-bind” your domain name, please be aware that failure to do so may result in inaccessibility.

  • Unbound domain names will no longer be accessible.
  • To ensure uninterrupted service, please rebind your domain name immediately.

How to rebind your domain name?

First, check if you have any domain that needs upgrading. You can find this information in the “Hosting Domain List” and “Bucket Domain List”. Any domain that needs upgrading will be indicated with the following notification, as shown in the image below.

Click on the domain to access the domain binding page for the project or the domain configuration page for the bucket.

Remove the domain that is already bound, and then re-add the same domain (as an example, using the Hosting project).

To configure and update the new information, perform the domain resolution in the domain control dashboard.

Wait for the domain resolution to be successful, this will complete the upgrade.

Unable to add CNAME record?

If your domain name service provider does not support the top-level domain name to add CNAME records when resolving, it is recommended to use Cloudflare and other platforms that support CNAME resolution for DNS resolution.

If you are using Cloudflare for DNS resolution, the basic operation is similar to other DNS service providers, but there are two things to note:

  1. In Cloudflare, the ANAME record needs to be set as a CNAME record.
  2. You need to disable the HTTP proxy mode(Orange Cloud) for your DNS domain in Cloudflare.

If you do not disable the HTTP proxy mode for your domain when setting up DNS records on Cloudflare, your custom domain will not be able to undergo DNS verification on 4EVERLAND. Therefore, please go to the DNS application in Cloudflare and edit your DNS records. You can click on the orange cloud on each record to disable it (turn it gray).

If you encounter any issues during the rebind process or require further assistance, please contact our support team. Our dedicated professionals are available to assist you and provide answers to your questions.

Once again, we would like to express our gratitude for your support and patience during the upgrade process. We firmly believe that this upgrade will further enhance your user experience and bring you more convenience and security.
