Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

A spectacular film in almost every scope, although not necessarily likening to everyone, it treats a harsh subject (cancer) with wit and humor that is neither hysterical nor disrespectful of the subject matter. Instead, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl lauds on its young cast to deliver a heartwarming and clever performance and utilizes innovative cinematography to soften and talk about cancer without going around this tenacious illness. Alas, this time the storm does come after the calm and as the movie goes forwards, it changes its tone to a more serious and sad thematic. In the end, Alfonso Gómez-Rejón delivers a small message of closure for all who might have been affected (directly or indirectly) by such a difficult thing as Cancer.
