5 things that made me happy today:
1. Slept late. (650 am)
2. Saw a woman with a Dalmatian running the Katy trail. My dad had Dalmatians off and on over several years. When his memory started to fade, they got another one so he would be known in the little town where they lived as The Man with the Dalmatian — so if he ever got lost, he would be easy to find. He walked that dog almost every day.
3. A short but intense conversation with a new friend. We’re rooming together at the Global Conference this year. (We’ve never met in person.) She had just left rehearsal with a new music partner and was so wound up!!
4. Ruby had a soccer game, on a muddy field, between rain showers. Twelve year olds (who have been playing soccer for a few years) can provide some exciting moments.
5. Fixed a nice dinner for myself — got 2 or 3 pans dirty, two dishes, and numerous utensils. Extreme cooking, in my book.

And you? Got something happy to share? I love reading your stories.

Keep going.
