(42) Someone to Watch Over Me
(A horror story in 50 words.)
Every noise in the house is magnified when I’m alone. Every creak, bump, and rustle makes me glance around the empty rooms.
Before bed, I turn on the bathroom light. The face behind mine in the mirror whispers You’re never truly alone, dear.
And then all the lights go out.
(Hi, everyone. I committed to doing The Writing Cooperative’s 52-Week Writing Challenge, and my choice is a 50-word horror story every week. Please leave some applause if you enjoyed it. And if you liked this, I’ve written longer stuff too.)
