Day 42: Had we blinked, we’d have missed it

As quickly as we swooped into Japan, we swooped right back out.
Less than 24 hours in Tokyo, and we were already boarding a plane to Manila. Since we extended our stay in New Zealand we had to cut our visit short.
It didn’t matter. We got a FABULOUS night in anyway.

We stayed at the infamous Park Hyatt. Thanks to Bill Murray and Scarlet Johanson’s, Lost in Translation, this hotel five star hotel has become even more popular.

We had the most delicious steak of our lives at New York Grill. The breathtaking view allowed us to see all of Tokyo’s skyline. There was a Jazz Band playing as we left so we caught a few songs.

After dinner we headed to our room where everything was perfectly planned. One of the things we’ve mastered on this trip is room design. It’s amazing how so many great hotels totally miss the mark in this area. Chargers and plugs conveniently located. Light switches on each side of the bed. The right amount of pillows. All these little things can add up to a pleasantly peaceful experience. And yet few get it right. At the Park Hyatt, we were overjoyed. Even the toilet seat lifted as we entered the bathroom!

The thing that sticks with me most about our brief Tokyo touch down is the people. Their beingness. Kind, gentle, polite, patient, honorable in all they do. They make me want to be better and I am humbled by this awareness.

Start thinking about what has inspired you, moved you, perhaps brought you some self awareness from my travels. These will be things I want to hear about if you’re wanting to come to Australia. All details to be revealed on day FIFTY!

Next stop, Manila. Another new stamp in the passport.

Cheers to being Fifty, Fit, and Fabulous!
