826 Valencia

826 Valencia Street, San Francisco, California 94110

When I first heard about the non-profit 826 Valencia from a friend, I was overwhelmed by the dedication author Dave Eggers and educator Nínive Calegari have towards educating students from ages six to eighteen in creative and expository writing. Part of the inspiration behind Project 365 and supporting the Children’s Creativity Museum was because of their vision to push creativity and imagination in the next generation. With education budgets continuing to get cut, the arts tend to be the first in the line of fire. I’m glad there are organizations like 826 Valencia out there and I’m even happier they’re part of 52 Pick Up. Also, while you’re there to pick up the drawing, be sure to check out the awesome Pirate Supply Store!

Enjoy the drawing, support 826 Valencia and spread the word! Feel free to post a pic below and tell your story when you visit. ☺
