Sound Spirits
1630 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119

From week to week I’m learning more and more about what goes into creating a business and the passion that needs to exist within individuals to make something they feel proud of. It’s not unlike creating good art. The same care and commitment has to be behind the work or it will not succeed.
After talking with Steven Stone, owner of Sound Spirits Distillery in Seattle, WA, I get the sense that they put a lot of passion and time behind what they create. Before the first bottle could be filled, Steven put a business plan together, brought friends on board to help finance the company, purchased equipment, designed and created a brand, leased a space and secured permits. All this while maintaining a day job as an aerospace engineer. In the end, Sound Spirits opened as Seattle’s first craft distillery since Prohibition.
“We constantly look for ways to give back to the community by sponsoring events, giving away items for auctions and hosting parties.”

At first, I began 52 Pick Up only to connect people and small business through my art work, but as the project evolves, I also hope I’m giving everyone a little insight into the people and personalities behind these interesting companies. I’m always supportive of someone willing to put it all on the line to build their dream. It’s inspiring!
Go pick up and enjoy the drawing if you’re in the Seattle area, support Sound Spirits and help spread the word! ☺
