This weekend I was exploring Valencia Street in the Mission, and I came upon a unique little boutique shop. This time it was the smell that first caught my attention and drew me inside, instead of the usual sign or window display. Immediately upon entering, I was welcomed by two smiling faces: Antonia Kohl, the owner of Tigerlily, and her sales associate, Ashley.

After spending some time with Antonia, you can tell she’s very passionate and enthusiastic about her products and about being a local businesses owner. Her space is is well curated and laid out as if you were in her personal living room which makes it very warm and inviting. The decor has a vintage and yet modern aesthetic with velvet furniture, antique tables and a geometric shelving system that compliments the various bottle designs. She carries both men’s and women’s scents, from affordable to more high end price points, larger brands to smaller indie fragrances. Antonia gets new arrivals regularly and the shop is well stocked so returning often will result in sampling and scoring unique new scents. And, look out for fun events and workshops, including fragrance debuts.

Antonia is in the shop most of the time so feel welcome to stop in. She and Ashley are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They’re great at giving you a lot of attention and pairing you with something unexpected that you’ll love.
