This weekend I found myself north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County, in the quaint town of Mill Valley to be exact. I came across a cozy storefront and was attracted to all the vintage beach and marquee signs leaning against the outside wall, so had to check it out. Stepping inside proved to be just as whimsical as the outside indicated. Paper lamps, intricate lights and unique bird cages hang from the ceiling. Antique toys, folk art, quilts and weathered metal numbers and letters of various sizes could be found throughout the store. Seems like you really could put some fun assembleges together working with everything this shop has to offer.
I learned that the owner of Weathered Nest, Claudia Sutton, is an artist herself and likes to keep her own personal space full of antiques and folk art. Claudia says she likes to keep the products that are stocked in her store about 90% sourced from California artists, with many of the works being recycled pieces. It’s hard to put into words — it’s an eclectic space you just have to see for yourself!

There are lots of San Francisco Bay area attractions near by and the shopping in Mill Valley is fabulous. Because we are located in the heart of downtown you can make a day trip here and enjoy lots of shopping and wonderful food.
