This week we worked out our costing structure using excel and graphs.

We worked out that we would charge $15 per deck at MESH and then charge an extra $3 for shipping and handling online.

There was a lot of debate around the card price as we originally thought we should sell them for $10. To help us with the decision we did a quick class survey to see how much value our product has in the minds of our target audience. From the class survey we discovered there was a high interest for our product and the demand meant we could afford the risk of charging an extra $5. The group then all agreed that we should not undersell our selves. These cards have value and we are undermining all the work we have done if we sell the cards at a loss.

The class survey also helped us determine future costs for a developed version using synthetic materials. The interest for 100% durable and waterproof material was high and they all agreed during the survey that a higher price would be acceptable in exchange for more value.

In terms of making a profit, we decided we’d rather break even and approach mesh market day as a product validation and feed back opportunity.

We finalised our card designs to be sent to the printer.
