I was running earlier today when I heard an ad for Lays potato chips.

The ad caught my attention when it made the crunching sound of a potato chip.

Thatā€™s when I thoughtšŸ¤”

wow thatā€™s a really cool idea to sell subliminal ads.

Think about itā€¦

You wake up in the morning, stretch and scratch. Put on your sneakers then head out for a run.

While running you obviously step on random things such as bugs, squirrels, and twigs. They all have the same cracking sound.

If every time you heard your mouth would start to salivate because you want a bag of potato chips. By the time you went home you, I have no doubt you would want a few chips.

The possibilities would be endless, for introducing different sounds during ads.

Donā€™t you agreeā€¦

ā€¦Then when I arrive home and scour through Tech Crunch I read about the Shazam acquistion. Itā€™s funny how things happen at the perfect moment. The acquisition is a huge steal for Apple.

Instantly I thought of 3 products that Apple could integrate Shazam with.

Apple Music

The ability for a user go to a night club and hear a song they have never heard before. Hit the Shazam button, and immediately have the suggested song available for purchase. With 17 years worth of data from Shazam they can give users many nostalgic moments.

Remember in 1999 when you loved Limp Bizkit ā€œNookieā€. Bingo!

Apple Ads

This is definitely something I am looking forward to being implemented with Shazam technology. The ability for my story(above) to come true would be huge. Subliminal ads is definitely something that is upcoing.

Siri

Siri has a lot of issues when it comes to the details. Shazam has mastered voice/sound since May 20, 2000. That is a full 7 years before the iPhone was released.

Siri is about to have a huge jump in to her medulla oblongota.

In conclusion, Apple just made out like bandits. Not only do they have 17 years worth of user data. They are about to improve their products so much, the competition will not come close for 5 years.
