Killing Your Dreams
In Writersland, when a writer has to cut out a passage of text to make the entire piece work, it’s called “Killing your darling.” It’s a painful experience — even though they’re only just words — to let go of something you worked hard to achieve.

You’ve changed and that’s okay. You are not the same person now as you were years ago when you set out to accomplish whatever it is you wanted out of life.
It’s a sad day when you decide your dreams are no longer what you actually want in life.
