Nobody Cares If You Go Viral But You
Websites want eyes on ads. Publications want smart stories in their genre. Readers want to see something interesting and feel educated/entertained. Magazines and newspapers want to sell copies.
This whole “going viral” thing happened by accident. It was an unplanned — though maybe inevitable — consequence of the Internet.
In other words, nobody is concerned with 15 minutes of internet fame.
Do you know what they are after? Good work.
This is great news. Viral work comes and goes, often at random. Good work is the result of slow, intentional, purpose-driven dedication.
