The Little Things Matter

My son is worried about the polar bears.

“The ice is shrinking,” he says, “we have to save them.”

In a 5-year-old’s mind, catastrophic actions are directly correlated to our own individual actions. In other words, if we don’t do something about it, the polar bears will die.

I, as a logical adult human, am aware that my actions have a minuscule impact on the melting ice caps. But then again, if we all adopted a 5-year-old mindset, we might not be in this pickle in the first place.
