Why Are We Ashamed of Unhappiness?
I’m not an unhappy person. Not currently, that is.
There have been times in my past when I wasn’t happy. After I left my full-time job and things weren’t panning out as I expected, I couldn’t bear the embarrassment of being a “failure.”
But I kept trudging on, insisting everything was fine.
We’ve all had low points in our lives.
But these low points are exasperated because instead of being open and honest, we plaster on a fake smile and hide away our unhappiness.
