Getting telemarketing calls? Post them for others? YES.

Okay, we’ve written about this a number of times. Now, here’s a new twist.

When you get a robo call, or telemarketing call, don’t answer, don’t pick-up, don’t text, don’t hang up, don’t do anything. Let it run the course. If it’s annoying you, just turn the sound off.

Call them back. You need to confirm that it’s either a robo call, or a telemarketer, or even a disconnected number. Spoofing the caller ID is now practiced, and the telephone criminals download lists of discontinued numbers to spoof the ID.

Once you’ve confirmed, use that number to start a new contact. Name the contact “A Spammer” . . . . now, every telemarketer to call you, do this same procedure, but instead of starting a new contact, you select “Add to an existing contact” and then add it to “A Spammer.”

Now if any of the numbers ever call you, it will instantly show up as “A Spammer.” I’ve had hundreds in my list. Later, you can collect them and post them to the web for others to download and add to their list.

Here’s one of my lists from the past two weeks : (Dashes have been removed)
