Nike and what’s-his-name = $$$

While it’s all well and good to protest for a cause you believe in, the media frenzy can turn it something evil. So far the “take a knee” protest has produced zero results, for the “cause” and nobody’s getting rich except the media and what’s his name. If it weren’t for social media it would be a non event.
I for one am sick of hearing about it ! Why do millions of people just want to give that news story more wings than it really deserves? The frenzy is a billion mentions throughout the media and social media — it’s time to GIVE IT UP. It’s done.
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, not a cause
Regardless of stocks. We all know it’s really NOT ABOUT PROTESTING the issues or ethics or respect for the flag or any of that. We all know IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!! If you were making a million dollars to take a knee, you would too. So the “Hate Nike” and “Love Nike” folks just need to give it up. You’ve made your point. Next thing you know the whole Russian troll-bot networks will be buzzing it, once they get off the Kavanaugh Supreme Court issue.
. . . WINDFALL PROFITS
Take a deep breath. Use your brain for a moment. Consider Nike’s target market, and what “star” or “hero” would get the MOST press, and prompt the MOST sales? Remember Nike has had many “heros”. Nike typically pays anywhere from 2 to 120 million for an endorsement. According to Money Magazine, Nike has spent a staggering total of $8 billion for endorsements since 2002! So this is nothing more than a marketing decision on Nike’s part, and you can see it’s already gotten more air time than all the ads they’ll actually pay for! Nike gets rich, what’s his name gets rich, and a generation gets new tennis shoes to fight and bicker over. It’s business.
. . . EASY MONEY?
This is the easiest money you can make. It takes ZERO work, ZERO time and ZERO athletic ability! Boom. Instant wealth — even if you don’t count all the endorsements, appearances, interviews, and spin-off swag. Sheesh. That guy never has to touch another football in his life if he doesn’t want to. This Christmas, watch for an action figure, on its knee! Don’t think for a moment those publicists and handlers don’t know all the tricks to manipulate the media!
I’ll bet you would ALL take a knee for a million dollars, right? So you can’t knock Nike, or what’s his name — it’s only business. Put it aside and get on with your lives.
And, that’s all I’m going to say about that, except thanks for reading!

_______________ END.
PS: Oh, by the way. If you happen to be really enterprising, why don’t you look up what percentage of NIKE’s costs amount to endorsements. You might be shocked. Back in the 1980s when I was deeply into the advertising and marketing industry McDonalds was the holy grail of advertising. They had a 17% food cost and a 60% advertising cost. So out of every dollar spent at McDonalds, 17¢ went to the food and 60¢ went to advertising. Now, figure out how much of a $16 pair of shoes they’ll sell for a $100 goes to endorsements.
