The same-sex marriage postal survey has closed on Tuesday, after weeks of campaigning from both sides.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) estimated 12.6 million people, or around 79 percent of the eligible voters participated.

That is an impressive number (we would agree if those numbers were related to growth in our industry).

The startup community is not shy about voicing their opinions in regards to this.

There are rainbows popping up on profiles of players and organisations in the community.

Community organisations and venture capital companies joined the conversation by proudly raising the rainbow colours in the form of emoji and display pictures.

Alan Tse who will is leading the newly opened FinTech hub in Melbourne, Stone & Chalk, showed his support.

Nicola Hazell, director of the female-focused accelerator program, SheStarts, also raised the rainbow flag.

Coworking spaces voiced their support as well, showing that they support the cause for equality.

York Butter Factory, known for housing tech startups, proudly showed their stand for equality.

Inclusivity is important especially in the workplace, so everyone can feel comfortable and represented.

An important point to remember is, there is no guarantee marriage equality will pass the House of Representatives, even if the Yes vote wins.

Now we just have to wait for the survey results to be released by ABS on 15 November.
