Anthony looking glamorous

Today’s a milestone in the life of 6D.ai where our first full-time employee has started. I’m delighted to welcome Anthony (twitter @portemantho) as a Senior Engineer to our team. He joins us from the software team at Tesla, where he worked for the last 4 years to create the interfaces between the self-driving autopilot algorithms and the user experience. At 6D.ai we’re building some of the most advanced AR algorithms, which if you know this space, you’ll understand are almost exactly the same as autonomous vehicle algorithms. The difference is that for AR they have to run on a smartphone, and usually AR algorithms don’t deal with life & death applications (though we have a project in the works that is life & death). Anthony’s experience is going to be invaluable in ensuring that our customers can build high quality consumer & enterprise-grade applications on top of our core technology.

The other great aspect is that I have had the pleasure of working with Anthony for 4 years at Dekko, where he again built the interfaces & some of our core AR technology for our “ahead of its time” AR SLAM systems & applications. We also worked together in Amsterdam at Layar. He’s one of those handful of amazing engineers you come across in your career that you’ll always jump at the chance to work with again, and the fact that he’s leaving Tesla to join us when he has so many other options in this hot market is a great validation of our business.

We’re going to be regularly adding more great engineering talent to our team over the coming months, and if you have expertise building AR or autonomous SLAM or 3D computer vision systems, and want to work with the best engineers & technology in an engineering led culture, please reach out to me via matt@6d.ai or https://angel.co/6d-ai/jobs
