Free CS:GO Statistics Visualization Software for Streaming and Broadcasting

I have developed multiple visualizations for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive TV broadcasts and Twitch streams over the past couple of years. However, these have always been one time solutions for a specific program or series. This time I have developed a solution that should be versatile enough for multiple different broadcasts, streams or tournaments while still being simple enough for a speedy and easy setup without too much customization or configuration. We at 8-bit-sheep are releasing this as freeware that you can download and use in your broadcast or stream — free of charge.

The software has already been used in the GameXpo 2018 CS:GO tournament in Helsinki. It shows real-time player statistics that can be overlaid on top of any video feed as you can see in this clip. It can also be used to show the player equipment in real-time, which is useful when you want to show out-of-game video between the rounds, but don’t want to miss what equipment the players are buying for the next round.

The software works by gathering the statistics from a computer that is running CS:GO and is connected to the game as a spectator. You don’t need to set up a separate computer for this, as you can use an observer’s computer. All you need to do on the observer’s computer is add a configuration file. The file and instructions to add it are included with the software.

The software supports Windows, Mac and Linux and needs to be run on a machine that is able to receive data from the observer machine running the CS:GO configuration.

The statistics can be mixed into the video feed by using vMix, and the software includes instructions how to do this. Using OBS or CasparCG should also work, but I haven’t tested nor created instructions for them yet. The video mixer integration is done by using a website as the video source, so any mixer software which supports websites as an input should work.

If you are a tournament organizer, streamer, broadcaster or just want to add some CS:GO statistics to a video, please go ahead and download the software from the links below. If you need any help with the software or have a bug report or feature request to file, you can contact me Twitter or by email jaakko.ojalehto@8-bit-sheep.com
