A persona is a tool that helps designers build and test digital products that meet the needs of real people. This persona is a fictional character that represents the goals and behaviours of potential users.

“I’m planning to buy a new sedan within 2–3 years. I have other small goals like incrementally upgrading to a 2BHK and then a 3BHK.”

Journey so far

Parijat runs a pharma company in Delhi. He has been with them for the past 10 years. He was born and brought up in Delhi and currently lives with his retired parents, wife, and 8-year-old son. Next year, he wants to renovate his home. In the long term, he looks forward to good progress in his career and upgrading his house and car.

Financial Behaviour

Parijat prefers using digital wallets and UPI for payments. He switches between them as and when he receives discounts and offers.

He has invested in a range of instruments like FD, RD, PPF, mutual fund, and also a chit fund with his close friends. He is not much of a risk-taker and ensures that he only makes investments that give him guaranteed returns. He is currently repaying his home loan. He had taken it from his long-time LIC agent.

Data Sharing & Privacy

Convenience and familiarity take precedence over safety when it comes to sharing data for Parijat. In his quest for offers and returns, he tends to overlook the nitty-gritty of data privacy. He likes the convenience of using his Facebook and Gmail login options for various apps. However, he would be wary of using it if he had the option for banking apps.

He forms trust with brands through repeated use and familiarity.

Tech Literacy

Parijat actively uses communication apps like WhatsApp and Gmail for both personal and professional use. He uses his social media apps mostly for content consumption and posts occasionally.

His search for discounts and offers makes him adapt and switch between multiple e-commerce apps.

Decision Influence

Parijat’s colleagues have been his biggest influencers when it comes to his decisions on savings and investments. He initially started consulting them to understand how to save on taxes. His parents pushed him to adopt health insurance.

Convenience and quality customer service are a priority for him.

Future of Data Sharing:

‘Future of Data Sharing’ aims at designing a playbook for consented sharing to enable financial services in India. The objective of this research is to develop a design toolkit with the upcoming public infrastructure Account Aggregators as the main theme in focus. The toolkit will host resources and assets around designing better user experiences for data sharing and data portability.
