Day 19 — It’s been tricky to put the miles in.

On the 19th, I walked around Edinburgh, the weather was absoluely beautiful.

The view from my hotel room — it’s a Travelodge — but what a view!!!
Calton Hill on a beautful summer evening
The smoke from a thousand disposable barbecues drifts over the meadows
Up Calton Hill
Down Calton Hill
Round the “smokey” Meadows to a date with a mint paratha
Home to Learmonth Terrace

57.9 (running total) + 1.7 + 1.3 + 1.4 + 1.5 = 63.8 (target for 19 days = 57)

OK — next day, so busy, no time for walking and yesterday, I was tasked with going to a company awayday at a theme park. So getting in the walking was difficult again, but I managed a little bit of a walk on the way back to the station (someone gave me a lift it would have been rude to refuse).

So just this:

The Thames was looking lovely — should have taken a picture

(0.8)

And then when I got to Waterloo, I just couldn’t face the Jubilee line, it was so hot — so I walked over the river, did some shopping that I needed to do in M&S on Oxford Streetand then walked up to Regent’s Park — just one change to the airconditioned Hammersmith and City (OK, if I’d know what I was doing I would have walked to Great Portland Street). Like a lot of London walks, it was more a meander — lets call it 2.3 Miles

A walk that makes you remember why you love this town — even the tourists

So 63.8 + (let’s call it) 3= 66.8 (running total)
