Regarding Last Night

Hi everyone, Nath here. I know last night was a bumpy ride for a lot of us. Put simply, two core members left the server last night, both of which have pretty much been here since the beginning.

Peachie, thanks for your input over the last 2+ years. Your input really helped shape 95 Degrees, and your artistic talent was an inspiration to us all.

Gabi, we’re heartbroken to see you left too. Your wholesome and relaxed take on the often chaotic scenes in #cafe was always welcome in our community. We won’t be the same without you.

Unfortunately, like all other big events of this nature, we have no other choice but to move on. Spending time managing and moderating a Discord server can be very unpredictable, with such a sudden change like we experienced last night. However, we have to adapt to what’s happened and keep doing what we’ve always done — aim to provide a safe, closely bonded and overall fun space for anyone and everyone. It’s our very first rule, after all.

We understand that people have some strong concerns about the server’s community, some members and the overall mood of the community. I and the Staff team are putting in as much effort as we can to make sure these issues are resolved, with few consequences for anyone. The last thing we want is the community to feel disconnected or broken apart.

We’re in a period of transition right now. As we posted here last night, while this is all happening, we’re also working to upgrade Guardian, as well as plan more events for the future. In addition to this, we have decided to add two more Baristas to our team. Swati and Frida are now on the team.

So, as part of our efforts to rebuild and strengthen our core community, we’re asking everyone to fill out a quick Google Form so we can gauge what our community feels. Please fill it out, and we’ll use the results to help us understand what the community feels right now. You can include your name if you’d like, but it’s not required.
