As more people move to urban in search of better lives, our cities will grow like never before. This is a huge challenge, however, most of the housing debates are narrowly focused on building more homes. As important as that is, we also need to think hard about potential ways of living so we can re-imagine how we might live tomorrow.

Through the rental and community services, we’re dealing with the problems caused by traditional real estate markets and the increasing urbanization. By re-structuring the living spaces, we minimize the private space and optimize the shared space, care about relationships and experiences from the users more than physical environment. It is not just about the design or the physical architecture. There has to be a social design, we have to get people connected, to build up a sense of community, otherwise the common facilities will never be used, people will always stay in their won room.

WanHua 9floor as 9floor’s first independent building, which is also the first co-living space that has never had in Taiwan. It comes with private suites, and several common areas include kitchens, lounge, cafe, and a small exhibition space. The common areas are not only accessible to the residents but also non-residents and the local neighbors.

We believe that co-living isn’t just a trendy throwback to a utopian idea. In fact, it may well be the answer to some of our biggest contemporary challenges.
