I received an email on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 informing me of upcoming shows at certain venues that I frequently visit. To my surprise my high school favorite, Brett Dennen, will be performing at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California on March 21, 2014 —that is a Friday for the unaware folk. A picture of the venue is located below:

I feel as though I should explain why Brett Dennen is so nostalgic for the sake of this blog entry. Brett Dennen, the Northern California native, was the first new music recommendation that my second girlfriend told me about in high school. The reason this guy holds such a significant place in my love for music book and provides such vivid memories is because said second girlfriend was my first true love. Of course, anyone can make the claim that I was 16 and didn’t know love but I personally believe love doesn’t come with an age, it comes with the capability to handle emotions. With that being said, my girlfriend at the time introduced me to the most beautiful song, Desert Sunrise, which is featured below.
I fell in love with his music instantly and fell deeper into love with her. Upon realizing that he has an upcoming show, I researched reviews of his previous shows. Truth be told I didn’t appreciate that some people disliked his shows but to each his or her own, I am still a fan and will be attending this show.
Tickets are currently on sale for $25 via www.ticketweb.com and like I always say, if you purchase a ticket please go with the print at home option for a 2014 green movement. I personally believe this will be a great show, like every show I write about, and hope to see you out there. To listen to more Brett Dennen, I’ve placed a link to his SoundCloud account below. Cheers!
