You talked about JSON, but you mentioned ION is lighter and more flexible than several other data formats. Can you speak to the idea that it is better than Protobuf?

The only major gain I can imagine is not requiring a definition file on both ends, other than that Protobuf does all the other requirements.

And of course I don’t mean for this to be a pretentious comment, I’ve only worked directly with PB for a few months, but it seems very flexible and fast. So I’m just curious how ION compares
