Error 500: Unexpected
We are Sorry. That’s the main point here…
We were all geared up to drop Tribe this week, but despite our best efforts, we have to delay the reveal a little bit….Please read below.
But, but…why???
We have worked tirelessly for the past few months to absolutely perfect the Tribe collection and comic book covers to whet your appetites and build hype and the community. With several trait, script and meta revisions recently we didn’t account for how complicated we were making things for ourselves.
It's all about the layers….cakes or onions? I would rather a slow baked cake than raw onion….you feel?
Some insight…
We get it, we dropped the ball on this, but we are flat refusing to reveal a collection that you have waited so patiently for, just to have some flaws, no-ser, not happening!
7 of the 19 tribe furs share the same shape. This means that the standard clothing, eye, mouth and hat base can be applied to these traits seamlessly. Easy work and what 99% of NFT projects do.
12 of the other furs are totally custom and different in shape. This required us to manually fit each of the traits (eyes, mouth, hat and clothing) to each fur.
I.e. 12 furs x 43 clothing items =516 custom clothing fits (just clothing).
Additionally, we would not be telling the truth if we didn’t admit to changing/revising some traits and elements recently due to community suggestions. This is no excuse, just some insight.
Where are we at?
The collection has been generated and comes in at a total of 20 gigabytes.
Right now we are fixing layering issues mainly between the eye and hat traits interacting. This too is another step that a majority of projects do not take — but is a no brainer for us.
There was also enormous focus on ensuring the script performed properly on the 0xApes to Tribe conversion as well as the new Tribe apes -ensuring no duplicates are generated that match the existing collection.
On top of this the exisiting metadata needs to be converted to reflect the new Tribe trait names — but this could not be done until after generation. Unfortunately, all this has consumed more time than initially expected.
This situation isn’t ideal and we understand your frustration and appreciate your patience — we just need a bit more time. If there’s one positive to come from all this work is that this collection will be near impossible to breakdown and recreated.
