zkSync Lite (previously zkSync 1.0) is a trustless protocol for scalable low-cost payments on Ethereum, powered by zkRollup technology. This has been live for more than 2 years on mainnet. It allows basic transfers, swaps, and NFTs functions but NO SMART CONTRACTS
First we need to transfer ETH to our Metamask, you can use any exchange and transfer ETH to Metamask.
1.Deposit ETH in zkSync Lite
Go to https://lite.zksync.io/ and select Ethereum Wallet
Next, select Metamask
Then select +Top up
Next, choose the bridge through which we will deposit ETH in zkSync Lite, I used the official bridge zkSync Lite
Then select ETH and enter the amount in Amount and click Top up
Note: Deposits can be from 10 minutes to 2+ hours
You will need to pay a commission of about 2–3 dollars, to activate the account.
2. Sending ETH to another address in zkSync Lite
Press the top of the Home bar and press Transfer
Then select Transfer to zkSync Lite
Insert the address into the Address line. Then enter the amount of ETH you want to send. Click Send on zkSync.
3. Mint NFT in zkSync Lite
Go to https://www.pinata.cloud/ and click Log in
Then select Sign up, enter your email, select Creator, click Next and enter your data for registration
After completing the registration, you will go to the page https://app.pinata.cloud/pinmanager, there choose +Add Files — File — Select a file, select the image you want and upload it.
After you have uploaded the image copy its Content Identifier (CID)
Go to https://lite.zksync.io/account/nft and press +Mint NFT
Insert your Content Identifier (CID) into Content Address and click Autorize to Mint NFT
Next, confirm in Metamask and press Mint NFT
Wait until there are two ticks!
4. Sending NFT to another zkSync Lite wallet
Selecting Transfer NFT
Put in the Address line — the address of the Metamask to which we want to send NFT. Then select our NFT that we mined in Step 3 in Select another NFT and press Autorize to Send NFT on zkSync, confirm the transaction in Metamask and press Send NFT on zkSync
Next, confirm the transaction in Metamask and click Send NFT on zkSync
5. NFT zkSync Lite output in ETH L1
Select — Withdraw NFT to L1
Next, select our NFT that we mined at Step 3 in Select another NFT and click Withdraw NFT to Ethereum (the commissions here are usually high)
6. ETH zkSync Lite output to ETH L1
Press the top of the Home bar and press Transfer
Next Transfer to Ethereum
Choose ETH and enter in Amount the amount of ETH we want to withdraw. Click Send to Ethereum.
Note: When zkSync is in low use, the output time is about 10 minutes. However, with higher peak usage, it can be up to 7 hours. Track transaction status in Block Explorer https://zkscan.io/
7. Trading on ZigZag
Press Swap
Connecting a Metamask Wallet
Choose the desired pair for trading, for example ETH/USDC, then press SELL, enter the amount of ETH we want to sell in Amount(ETH) and press Sell ETH
