week 8 Event or State Driven Game (Tower Defence)
This week we were handed the task of creating an event or state driven game that was not effected by physics. For this I chose to make a tower defense game. My visual theme I went with for this project was bright and had a fantasy setting.
Achievements:
The goals I achieved In this first week of development I completed the template for my level and finished my towers and also made my camera move on where the direction of where the cursor is and also added a zoom function to the scroll wheel. There were plenty of tutorials on YoutTube and the internet in general on how do get the camera to pan across the map and zoom in and out, which I used to help me work out what needs to be done. I also spent a reasonable time on the textures of the terrain and towers as well as making every edge of the path straight (which took a considerable amount of time to do).
Setbacks and Solutions:
The only real setback I encountered this week was the amount of time that I spent on the terrain to make it flat and have straight edges along the path. My solution for this was to break it up into smaller chucks of time that I would spend on the terrain editing.
