56/100: Reward good work, send postcards to thank Defense Sec Mattis for affirming Climate Change

Hey everybody! Today’s act is a positive action to support the good work of Defense Secretary Mattis for taking a stance against the GOP and Trump administration by affirming climate change as a real threat. In his words :

“Climate change can be a driver of instability and the Department of Defense must pay attention to potential adverse impacts generated by this phenomenon.”

This is a huge step, as it directly opposes the Trump administration’s stance on climate change; specifically, that it is driven through human action. A stance that the current head of the EPA, Scott Pruitt reiterated on March 13th:

“I think that measuring with precision human activity on the climate is something very challenging to do, and there’s tremendous disagreement about the degree of impact, so no, I would not agree that it’s a primary contributor to the global warming that we see.”

So today’s act is to reach out and thank Def. Sec. Mattis for his good work. There may be many other aspect of the man’s policies that you don’t agree with, but this is a great chance to work to change them through positive reinforcement. You can read a full background on the subject in the article below, and a couple ways to contact his office:

You can send any postcards you might have left from yesterday to this address:
Jim Mattis, Secretary of Defense,
1000 Defense Pentagon, Washington, DC 20301–1000
