Dhanurasana or Bow pose is one of the most important yogasana in Yoga practices.It is one of the 12 poses of Hatha yoga. It is called Dhanurasana because in this pose one has to make a pose of the bow(dhanush/dhanur). This asana itself is a complete exercise because it activates all your muscles and fiber in just one go. Dhanurasana is well known as one of the best exercises to tone body. Today we will cover up all the benefits of dhanurasana (BOW POSE YOGA).

STEPS TO DO DHANURASANA:

Lie down on the stomach. keeping your feet, buttock-width apart and your arms beside your body. FOLD your legs from knees, now try to hold ankles from both of your hands, remember you have to keep your hand straight meanwhile you have to focus on keeping leg muscles under stress, now slowly move your head and chest upside. Look straight as someone is there This simple Yogasana keeps your muscles and nerves under shock, Hence it activates your muscles and fibers very fast. now slowly come back to normal position, you can leave your ankles now.

BREATHING PATTERN: see! whichever yogasana you are doing, giving attention to your breathing pattern is must, without implementing proper breathing pattern in your yoga asana you would be just wasting your time. BREATHING and yoga poses are deeply connected to each other.when you hold your ankles and move your chest and head upwards you have to inhale slowly slowly , and when you come back to the normal position you have to exhale slowly slowly. You have to be very mindful to get greatest benefits of Dhanurasana

TIME DURATION: Ideally beginners should start doing it for 15–20 seconds. Gradually you can increase the time duration up to 10 minutes. See! 10 minute is the maximum time duration, and should be done by trained yogi only. If I assume you are a beginner I will advise you to start it with 15–20 seconds. And as your practice and capacity increases, you can increase the time duration also. Repeatedly do it for 4–5 times.
