The God of Thunder Gets a Glow Up: A Review on Thor: Ragnarok
SPOILER WARNING (If somehow you still haven’t seen the movie)
After having two movies trying to figure out how to characterize a Norse god and a couple more trying to add the God of Thunder with other heroes, Thor: Ragnarok, which is the third in the Thor franchise, finally gives us a reason to love the character Thor Odinson. What made this movie great was all the new things it gave us by using old characters, while also adding some new characters that are more than likely to last in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This Marvel movie gave an old hero a whole new makeover, both physically and personality-wise, and showed us a worthy film that is much more relatable and likable than those before it.
In previous movies, Thor was known as the God of Thunder with long, blond hair, a majestic, red cape with full body armor, and possessed a magic, indestructible hammer that could only be picked up by the worthy. He would usually win the day by defeating the villain with his god-like strength and lightning bolts, which is what he is known for. We have seen the God of Thunder on the planet Earth, and on his homeland of Asgard with other settings that were mostly familiar to him (Thor, Thor: The Dark World).
