I really really like this and agree with this. Me being a millennial and hearing from people often that millennials don’t know how to work hard and are lazy I take that offensive because I feel like that is a very generalized statement. At every job and through playing sports I have always been told I am a hard worker and have an amazing work ethic especially this early on in my life so I always try to prove those stating that millennials don’t work hard wrong. I agree that there are definitely millennial’s that are lazy but you can say that about any generation. I am glad that you addressed the fact that it is just a different work environment and how the world itself has changed. I believe it is so very important for employees and employers to talk often about each other’s goals and long term plans. For me when I have an employer that is asking how my life is going and what I want to do in the future and what my overall goals I want to help them as long as they are helping me. I want to work hard to show them that if they have my back I will have theirs. I love working for people and places that I can learn a new skill or improve one I believe that knowledge truly is power and it is so important that we constantly are progressing and gaining knowledge. So I want to work hard at something that is going to benefit me and of course there are times where I just need to work hard to get something done or just to help some one out and that is fine that is what is called service which is good. I just think it is very important that we are not quick to make the generalization that all millennial’s do not have a good work ethic and you have explained that perfectly so thank you.
