New technologies harness the power to change our world for the better. This is how AI is being used to maintain a sustainable planet.

As an introduction to this article I’m going to tell you about my own efforts to cut down my carbon footprint and waste trail before telling you how AI can do so too. When ringing in the New Year, I decided my New Years resolution was to convert my skincare and beauty products to sustainable and/or zero waste products. I am just over four months into switching products to zero waste and I’m loving it. I now use shampoo, conditioner, face wash, moisturizer and body wash bars. All of these products have no packaging whatsoever, it’s amazing (I don’t have to worry about liquids when travelling). I now use 100% bamboo toothbrushes and bamboo toothbrush holders. I have also converted to reusable cotton pads (made from bamboo) and shopping bags. I also carry my reusable water bottle and coffee cup with me at all times. …

A summary of everything I have learned about AI in industry over the last ten months including primary research completed in order to support my findings.

Introduction

Over the last ten months I’ve had the opportunity to research and promote new and emerging technologies during my internship as a Digital Advocate. I have primarily focused on artificial intelligence and autonomous processes in the workplace and how they can increase productivity. I looked at a broad range of industries to increase my understanding from a wider viewpoint. I learned that artificial intelligence will be used to enhance humans, not necessarily replace them. When we combine human intelligence and computational intelligence we get something referred to as “Amplified Intelligence”. …

Advice on how to be productive when working from home!

Many companies are now having their employees work from home where possible in order to keep workers safe in the current situation regarding COVID-19. For many employees it will be their first time working from home so I have put together some tips on how to be your most productive self as well as some tricks that help me stay productive throughout the day.

1. Wake up early ☀️

Waking up at the same time as I normally do is one of the biggest factors in terms of productivity when working from home. If you’re not a morning person it can be difficult to motivate yourself to get up early but trust me it is worth it. I get up at 06:30 am GMT on a regular workday at the office so I continue to get up at this time when working remotely. I find that it helps me maintain normality and routine. …

How AI is being used to vamp up one of the biggest and most competitive industries in the market.

Artificial intelligence is a trendy term tossed around at the moment, but how has it been used to improve one of the biggest industries around the globe? AI is being used to increase productivity in manufacturing clothes as well as running enterprises. New and emerging technologies can be used to improve sustainability and produce a customized, individual customer experience.

How AI is being used in fashion? 💻

Artificial intelligence is being used in many different ways in the fashion industry. The first use case of AI in fashion is as an advisory role. Artificially intelligent digital assistants are being used to recommend clothes to customers based on their height, weight, shape, and current size. Customers are then given accurate sizing based on the details they have inputted into the system. The sizing accuracy is based on feedback from other customers. On average 40% of online purchases are ultimately returned. The use of AI in customer advisory is important as it allows for greater customer satisfaction and a reduction in the number of returns. …

Will AI keep up with video games?

Artificial intelligence has made significant changes to many industries over the last couple of years. Some of these include health, legal, retail, and music industries. Today I am going to take you through how artificial intelligence has altered the video game industry and where I see AI taking video games in the future.

You may already be aware of the topical platform changes that the gaming industry is dealing with currently. Previously, video games were bought on discs and cartridges which were then used to either install the game or simply play it on a device. Nowadays, a digital download is the main form of distribution, and in a new shift, we are seeing a prominent move to streaming games via platforms such as Steam or Google’s recent launch of its own video game streaming platform, Stadia. As well as this development we are also seeing the move from regular streaming to cloud streaming. …
