Week 6: The Graveyard Book with Spring Miles
Neil Gaiman wrote The Graveyard Book and published it in September 2008. I haven’t started it yet, as far as I know it’s a Gaiman-type equivalent of The Jungle Book. A kid without parents being raised by skeletons and ghosts instead of bears and panthers. I’ve already read Gaiman’s Coraline, it was really refreshing and unusual. I have similar expectations for this one. It was a recommendation from an adviser at UKY named Chris Miller. If you’re there then stop by and see him and his well decorated office.
Spring Miles I mainly know because we have the same parents and grew up together. She’s four years older than me, 21, and she’s a university student and she’s engaged to this cool guy from Morocco. This book was kind of my pick, not hers, so I hope she likes it. It will give us something to talk about at least :)
