MANAGE YOUR ENERGY NOT YOUR TIME.

Your productivity depends more on how you balance four key life energy resources, but not on the amount of time you spend for purpose. They are:
1. The body: Physical energy
2. Emotions energy: Positive and Negative
3. The Mind: Focus of energy
4. The Human Spirit: Energy of meaning and purpose
Body energy:
First of all, you need to manage your nutrition. Breakfast has crucial role within the day.
Also, you need to control sugar consumption and maintain constant interval between meals. It’s important to change location within the dining time (from working table to canteen).
Secondly, you need to add physical exercises to your life at least 4 times per week (cardio + strength)
Third component is your sleep. Normal sleep length is 7–8 hours per day and you should fix it’s start and end time.
The last but not the least input is taking small breaks to relax and change activity type.
Emotions:
Learn how to neglect stress and negative emotions. Don’t stretch time to fix problem. «The biggest frog is the frog to eat»
Find the way how to get bad news with less stress. For instance, sport exercises, but not cigarettes and alcohol.
Family is the biggest source of positive emotions, you should fix the time and zone for family engagement, there work ends.
Friends and hobby are the second area for new positive emotions.
You need to discover some small sources to get positive emotions through the day it can be anything from small talks / couching with colleagues, till 5–7 minutes education or sport activities. Switching roles or activity type is a solution. The time of the break is not so important as its quality.
The way how you appreciate or receive bad news: try always to implement three lenses to storytelling for yourself and other people:
a) (reverse) How will other people react? Is their reaction right?
b) (long) How I will most likely view this situation in six months?
c) (wide) Regardless the outcome of this story, what will I learn from it?
The Mind: Focus of energy:
Multitasking is not a good tool to use through the day. There is a phenomena of “switching time”, you lose 25% of time within interruptions and switching focus from task to task.
The best solution is to divide working schedule by periods from 60 to 90 minutes, when you can concentrate one the single project or task.
Messengers, emails and phone calls, responding to colleagues questions also burn your time.
The Human Spirit: Energy of meaning and purpose:
What do you want to be remembered for?
Do your value results of your daily work? Are your company mission, products, principles suits your personal values?
Do you enjoy everyday routine? Do you contribute incremental results? That is a role for business and social community?
If not, you should immediately try to change company, industry, sphere.
