Heat Upon Us

Freedom found from within amidst turbulent struggle.

Complete little summer child,
you sit there in the dark
without a single thought.

Roiling nights aloft in thunder clouds,
what do you see?
Passion for our guide,
we weep together in pouring crowds.

Eyes wander, seek some peace,
tilling wrinkles.
Fill the breach, allow our comfort
to be at sea, mind in the sky.

Colored stones fall through our fingers
with our love.
Strong whispers linger.
Smiles of grinning clowns mark years
solemn sorrow mends crooked fences.

Stay in the rain, a chance perhaps in vain.
A flit through streaks we dream,
so sings the stolid lyre.
Tonight, aside from stolen prayers
our tears gleam and light is made.

And child, which eyes,
look upon horizons.
Stray hearts desire with warping mirrors
alone brings the coming seasons.

Little friend your smile descends,
arising from within,
catch a glimpse along,
our ride we’ll be complete.

Awaken now we can, comfort be.

This poem comes from a place of neverending monotony. The words touch on how fleeting and impermanent materials are, things we have. Chances for greatness had and lost. And, regaining inner focus. Finding purpose and your center. Opening up of heart and soul and seeing.
