Last year, I attempted to start a new tradition for the holiday season. I failed miserably, dropping it after two days. This year, I’m forgetting about last year’s false start and re-launching it.
Welcome to “The Twelve Days of Beer-mas”.
Beginning 12 days prior to December 25th, I will open one beer and share my thoughts here. I’ll draw from my vast cellar, and that’s not hyperbole; I have several hundred bottles I’ve been aging, some for quite a few years. The beers will be chosen at semi-random, and may or may not be “seasonally appropriate” — don’t expect 12 “Christmas Ales” in a row. In a sense, this is one way to help deplete my cellar a little bit and encourage me to open some bottles I have been sitting on for a while.
This year (2015), the Twelfth Day of Beer-mas will begin tomorrow — Monday, December 14th. I hope you’ll hop on board as we malt our way towards December 25th. Get it? Hop? Malt? Ah, nevermind. A bad joke for beer geeks.
